Mr. Charles T. Sunkuli is the new Principal Secretary for the State Department for Devolution. He takes over from Mr. Nelson Marwa, who moves to the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizenship in the same capacity. Mr. Sunkuli is the immediate former Principal Secretary for Environment and Forestry
In his address to the Heads of Departments, Mr. Sunkuli thanked Mr. Marwa for the warm welcome to the State Department adding that he appreciates the work the former PS had done to streamline the operations of the State Department. He assured the officers that he is a team player and operates an open-door policy adding that he will constantly consult them before making decisions.
The PS called on the staff to be committed to their work and support him in driving devolution agenda forward. He noted that he was familiar with most of officers working at Devolution having worked in Public Service for over 15 years and later as the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
On his part, Mr. Marwa welcomed the PS to the State Department saying he had prepared a thorough handing over report indicating what has been accomplished and what is pending. He thanked the staff for the support they gave him during his tenure and urged them to accord the same support to the incoming PS.
We welcome Mr. Charles Sunkuli to the State Department for Devolution and wish Mr. Nelson Marwa well in his new tour of duty.
